The Australian Institute of Physics (AIP) National Executive invites nominations for the Diversity and Equity Group in Australian Physics (DEGAP) committee. 

As an AIP topical group, DEGAP works to strengthen Australia’s physics community by increasing the engagement of underrepresented groups. Its mission is to promote equity, advocate for members, and address barriers to career progression through cultural change and policy development.

Nominations are sought for Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary/Treasurer, as well as general committee members.

While DEGAP has historically paid particular attention to gender equity, its purpose is broader—supporting all underrepresented groups in physics, including, but not limited to, those from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, First Nations communities, LGBTQIA+ physicists, people with disabilities, and those across varied career paths.

Serving on the committee offers the opportunity to shape initiatives, influence change, and contribute to a more inclusive and representative physics community.
